How reading books is helpful in Leadership

From July 2018 after meeting President Obama in Johannesburg South Africa, I learnt from Him at least one thing which I will never forget and it is a discipline of reading books and biographies as long as I can.
It has become a very valuable achievement to my life both personal and the humanity I serve.
In few years coming, It will leave me a changed person with great character to do better every day.
This has well helped me to live a purposeful life every single day of my life.
Books about emotional intelligence is very important.
